GEM MINT 10

A Virtually Perfect Card. Attributes include perfectly sharp corners, focus, and original sheen. It is free from staining, although consistent printing imperfection is factored if it doesn’t impair the overall look of the card. The image must be centered with a 5% tolerance front and back.

MINT PLUS. M+ 9.5

A Nearly Perfect Card. Attributes include perfectly sharp corners, focus, and original sheen. It is free from staining, although consistent printing imperfection is factored if it doesn’t impair the overall look of the card. A minor imperfection is the major difference between a gem mint and mint plus. The image must be centered with a 7% tolerance front and back. Equal to a 9.9 in other grading.

MINT 9

A Superb Condition Card. Attributes include sharp corners, focus, and original sheen. It is free from staining, although consistent printing imperfection is factored if it doesn’t impair the overall look of the card. A minor flaw, stain or edge imperfection is the major difference between a mint plus. The image must be centered with a 10% tolerance front and back. Equal to a 9.8 in other grading.

Near Mint Plus. NM+ 8

A Super High-End Card. At a glance may look like a Mint 9, but closer inspection may reveal the following: A very slight wax stain, minimal fraying on 1-2 corners, a minor printing imperfection, and/or slightly off white. Centering must be within a 10% tolerance. Compares to a 9.2-9.6 in other grading.

Near Mint. NM 7

A High-End Card. This card has more visible imperfection that reveal the following: A very slight wax stain, slight fraying on some corners, a minor printing blemish, and/or slightly off white. Centering must be within a 15% tolerance. Compares to a 7.0-9.1 in other grading.

Excellent Plus. EX+ 6

A Quality Card. This card may have visible surface wear or a printing defect that doesn’t detract from its overall appeal. May have a light scratch on magnified inspection. Corners may have slightly graduated fraying. Picture focus may be less in focus. Card may show loss of original sheen. May have a minor wax stain. May exhibit minor imperfection on edges. May be slightly off white. Centering must be within a 20% tolerance.

A Quality Worn Card. This card may have visible surface wear or a printing defect that doesn’t detract from its overall appeal. May have a light scratch on visual inspection. Corners display graduated fraying or rounding. Picture focus may be less in focus. Card may show loss of original sheen. May have a minor wax stain. May exhibit minor imperfection on edges. May be slightly off white. Centering must be within a 20% tolerance.

A Very Good Card. This card has noticeable but modest visible surface wear or a printing defect that doesn’t detract from its overall appeal. May have light scratches on visual inspection. Corners display graduated fraying or rounding. Picture focus may be less in focus. Card may show loss of original sheen. May have a wax stain. May exhibit imperfection on edges. May be slightly off white. Centering must be within a 20% tolerance.

A Very Good Worn Card. This card has noticeable visible surface wear and/or a printing defect. May have light scratches on visual inspection. Corners display rounding, but not extreme damage. Picture focus may be less than VG+ 4. Card shows loss of original sheen. May have a wax stain. May exhibit imperfection on edges. May be slightly off white. Centering must be within a 20% tolerance.

A Good Card. This card has noticeable visible surface wear and/or a printing defect. May have scratches, scuffing, light staining or chipping of surface on visual inspection. Corners display graduated rounding. Picture focus may be less than VG+ 4. Card shows loss of original sheen. May exhibit imperfection on edges. May be off white. Centering must be within a 20% tolerance.

FAIR 1

A Fair Card. This card has extreme visible surface wear and/or a printing defect. May have scratches, scuffing, staining, discoloration or chipping of surface on visual inspection. Corners display significant damage, but pieces are not missing. Picture focus may be less than G 2. Centering must be within a 20% tolerance.

POOR 0.5

A Poor Card. This card is similar to a FAIR 1, but with major tears and missing pieces. It is merely a validation of authenticity of the card.
